Aiff Converter Reviews and Ratings: Make an Informed Decision
Your Most Essential Guide Towards Picking Best Aiff Converter
An easy yet powerful editor
Numerous effects to choose from
Detailed tutorials provided by the official channel
“I need to convert some general audio files to AIFF, do you have any recommendations?”
We do, in fact, have some recommendations for you! The AIFF file format, while generally obscure, is accepted by most general audio converters! So, we didn’t have any problem finding some that you can use to AIFF converter!
In this article
01 [What’s So Good About AIFF?](#Part 1)
02 [How to Convert M4A to AIFF Free and Easily](#Part 2)
03 [What Makes AIFF Converter the Best Free Online Tool for Mac Users?](#Part 3)
Part 1 What’s So Good About AIFF?
But okay, what’s the deal with AIFF? Is it really all that good? And, if it is, why? For the first part of this article, we’ve prepared a short overview on the AIFF file format You can skip ahead though if you’d prefer to see the tutorial on AIFF Converters or our list of recommendations.
01What’s AIFF?
AIFF, also called the Audio Interchange File Format, is an audio file format that was popularized in 1988. It was based on the Electronic Arts Interchange File Format and is probably most familiar for Mac users. It’s accepted by most media players, including Apple Music and the Apple QuickTime Player.
02Why Is It So Popular?
Why? Well, it all has to do with the loss of quality. AIFF files are notable because they are uncompressed — leading to an inarguably better sound. That makes it popular with content creators, who want to provide the best possible listening experience to their audience. The caveat to this, of course, is that its uncompressed state means that it takes up a lot more space on one’s disk drive. But, many people would be willing to give that up in exchange for the enhanced sound.
Part 2 How to Convert M4A to AIFF Free and Easily
For this next section, we’ll be teaching you how to convert M4A to AIFF with an online AIFF converter. The benefit of using an online converter like the one we’ll be showing you how to use is that it is usually FREE and very efficient. This makes it a perfect solution for those who are just looking to convert to or from AIFF occasionally and thus has no need for a more permanent solution.
01Step 1: Launch Online AIFF Converter & Upload Files
The first thing that you have to do is open up the online AIFF Converter that you want to use. For our example, we’ve chosen FreeConvert, but there are plenty of other ones out there for you to choose from
Once you’re on-site, make use of the upload options to prepare your file to be converted. In this case, we uploaded an MP3 file, but it will work for M4A to AIFF just as well (along with other file formats.)
02Step 2: Convert to ‘AIFF’
Once the file that you want to convert has finished uploading, confirm that the output file format has been set to “AIFF”.
03Step 3: Play with Advanced Settings
This is optional, but if you want, you can adjust certain audio parameters by taking advantage of the ‘Advanced Settings’ option
04Step 4: Convert M4A to AIFF
Now it’s time to finally convert In this case, that is as easy as selecting the ‘Convert to AIFF’ button.
05Step 5: Download AIFF
When the conversion has been completed, click the ‘Download AIFF’ to finish up and save the converted AIFF file to your computer.
Part 3 What Makes AIFF Converter the Best Free Online Tool for Mac Users?
For this next part, we’ll be demonstrating an AIFF Converter that can be downloaded and used by Mac users. And then we’ll be following it up with a long list of all the best AIFF Converters available online and for both Windows and Mac users
01How to Use Free Audio AIFF Converter on Win/Mac?
As promised, this first part is a demonstration on how you can convert M4A to AIFF with a converter that will work for both Windows and Mac. This free audio converter is called ‘MediaHuman Audio Converter.’ It’s a really simple converter and is a great option for those who see themselves requiring an audio converter often but still don’t feel it necessary to cough up extra money for premium software when they can get a free one
**Step 1: Add File(s) for Conversion
First things first, upload the file that you want to convert With MediaHuman, you can do this in one of three ways:
● Drop media onto the specified area
● Click the “+” file option in order to manually add file

**Step 2: Select Format
Once your file has been uploaded, select the “Format” button in the middle of the toolbar This will cause a pop-up to appear where you can choose your desired output format Of course, in our case, we chose “AIFF”
**Step 3: Start Conversion
Next, click ‘Start Conversion’ This will initiate the conversion. After which, you’ll be able to save your converted AIFF file and store it for use.

● Click the “+ folder” option in order to manually add files
**Step 2: Select Format
Once your file has been uploaded, select the “Format” button in the middle of the toolbar This will cause a pop-up to appear where you can choose your desired output format Of course, in our case, we chose “AIFF”
**Step 3: Start Conversion
Next, click ‘Start Conversion’ This will initiate the conversion. After which, you’ll be able to save your converted AIFF file and store it for use.
0210 Best AIFF Converter for Lossless Conversion
Now for our list of the best AIFF Converters available right now We’ve made sure to pick a good variety of them that you can choose from. Some of which are online tools, like we introduced in Part 1, while the others will be downloaded software that you can have at the ready at all times, like what we introduced in Part 2, Section 1
Keywords: aiff converter, m4a to aiff, convert m4a to aiff
**1. Zamzar
For the first AIFF Converter on this list, we have ZAMZAR ZAMZAR is an online file conversion tool that is capable of converting in a variety of file formats. Of course, the one that we’ll be looking at today is Zamzar’s AIFF Converter — which is almost 100% FREE to use (there’s a max upload file size that can only be unlocked if you pay the premium fee).
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● FREEmium Online AIFF Converter● Wide variety of input and output file formats to choose from● No loss of quality and efficient conversion speed | ● Not 100% FREE, must pay to unlock certain functions● There is a max upload size for the FREE version (50MB)● Internet is required in order for use |
**2. ConvertOnMac
Our next recommended tool is Convert on Mac This is another online tool that can be used to convert a variety of files (i.e., audio, video, image, document, etc). The one that we’ll be focusing on though is Convert on Mac’s AIFF Converter
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Supports a variety of file input and output formats● Special AIFF Converter available for easy conversion● File upload can be done both manually or through a URL | ● Available online only● Most compatible for Mac users (as is evident from the name)● Not the best for bulk conversions |
**3. Online Converter
The next one up is Online Converter This one is more like ZAMZAR than Convert on Mac. If only because it also comes with a max file size that is locked. It’s more limited though — in that it doesn’t support as many input and output formats. And, as you can no doubt guess from the interface, quite old-school as well.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Specialized AIFF Converter● Functions as a converter for other file types as well● Large max file size | ● Available online only● Max upload file size is 200MB● Slower, less efficient conversion speed |
**4. Wondershare Filmora Video Editor
For this next AIFF Converter, we make a complete departure from your general converters by introducing a completely different beast altogether Specifically, in the form of a Video Editor called Filmora. Filmora is an incredibly advanced video editing tool. And, because of this, it’s capable of most things related to video and audio editing. Including, in this case, AIFF conversion
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Advanced video and audio functions for adjusting audio output parameters● Supports dozens of audio and video file formats● Produces high-quality end product | ● FREEmium product, certain functions are locked in the FREE version● Download and installation is required● Not the most beginner-friendly |
**5. EaseUS Video Converter
With ‘EaseUS Video Converter’ we continue on our trend of AIFF conversion software This one, despite its name suggesting otherwise, functions as a solid Audio Converter So far, it’s closest to Filmora Pro when compared to all the others on this list. It’s a one-trick kind of pony though. Seeing as, unlike with Filmora, you can really only use this to convert files.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● High-quality video and audio conversion● Supports dozens of input and output formats● FREE trial available | ● Limited FREE Trial● Supports Windows OS only● Download and installation is required for use |
**6. Wondershare UniConverter
This next software, the ‘Wondershare UniConverter’ is a bit of a mix between Filmora and EaseUS Video Converter. As is evident from the UI (shown-off in the screenshot provided), it has the makings of a straightforward converter but with extra tools (i.e., video editor, video compressor, merger, screen recorder, etc.) that you can take advantage of while working on your conversions.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Extra features for editing input and output files● Supports up to 1000 formats● High-speed Conversion rates | ● FREEmium program● Certain functions are locked in the FREE version of the program● Download and installation is required for use |
**7. VSDC Free Audio Converter
Next up, we have VSDC VSDC is a FREE Audio Converter. It’s pretty old-school (as is perhaps evident from the UI example) but it supports a variety of audio formats, including AIFF, which earned it a spot on this list of ours
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Supports all the key formats for both input and output● Built-in editor for trimming audio● High-conversion quality | ● Open-source, and thus not update as often● The conversion speed is slow● Old-school interface |
**8. Switch Audio File Converter
Switch Audio File Converter is a Mac AIFF Converter. You can find it on the Mac APP Store, or purchase it directly on the NCH Software website. For the FREE app version, you have access to certain functions, with the rest being locked under in-app purchases.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Supports over 40+ audio file formats● Batch conversion functionalities available● Convert from video to audio easily | ● Convert from video to audio easily● Faulty AIFF to OGG conversion● Comes with lots of bugs |
**9. iTunes - Apple
This is a hidden feature that not many people know about, but iTunes actually works as a pretty serviceable AIFF Converter. It’s not the most efficient, but with iTunes’ AIFF Encoder, conversion to AIFF is possible (converting from AIFF to MP3, and WAV is also possible because iTunes provides Encoders for those as well).
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● FREE software, pre-installed on Mac computers● Quality settings to ensure good sound quality● AIFF-specific converter | ● No bulk-conversions available● Inefficient AIFF conversion● It will need to be downloaded and installed manually for Windows |
**10. Convertio
Last, but not least, is Convertio We circle back with this fourth and last online converter It’s actually quite advanced. Although, just like many of the other FREEmium online converters we’ve listed, it’s not 100% FREE and comes with a lot of limitations.
Highlights | Highlights |
---|---|
● Supports all the general audio files● Various ways to upload● High-quality conversions | ● FREEmium online converter● 100MB upload limit for the FREE version● Slow conversion |
Key Takeaways from This Episode
● The AIFF file format is notable because it results in higher-quality sound. This is because AIFF, unlike the more general, MP3 file format, is not a compressed format.
● There are various ways that you can convert from and to the AIFF file format. The first method that we introduced was an online tool that would be available for use no matter what computer or device you’re using The second was chosen specifically because it was FREE and available for both Windows and Mac
● If you’re interested in looking through other options, the ten other converters we introduced should provide a healthy lot for you to choose from — with various levels of usefulness depending on what you need an AIFF Converter.

Download Mac Version ](https://tools.techidaily.com/wondershare/filmora/download/ )
Wondershare Filmora is a versatile post-production application with a built-in video editing tools and effects to edit videos with ease. The tool is usually considered a good competitor of Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X, etc.
Like any other similar program, even Filmora allows you to blur both landscape and portrait videos. The processes of getting these tasks done are given below:
1. Blur a Part of Video (Landscape Video)
Step 1: Import and Add the Source Video to Timeline
Launch Wondershare Filmora on your Windows or Mac computer (MacBook Pro M1 is used here), make sure that the 16:9 (Widescreen) layout preset is selected under the Select Project Aspect Ratio section on the flash screen, and click New Project.
Next, click to select My Media from the menu bar if not already selected, and from the navigation pane on the left, select Project Media.
Then, click Import from the Media box, select and import the source video to the program, drag the clip from the Media box to the Timeline at the bottom, and when the confirmation box appears, choose the option either under the Keep Project Settings or Match to Media sections to add the video to the Timeline.
Step 2: Add Blur Effect
Go to Effects from the menu bar, select Default from the top of the navigation pane on the left, and select Utility from the available list. From the right box, drag the Mosaic effect, and place it on a separate layer above the video track in the Timeline.
Step 3: Customize the Effect to Blur a Part of Video
Double-click the Blur effect in the Timeline, use the scaling handles in the preview window to scale and position the effect to cover your preferred part of the video and place it at your desired location respectively, choose a Mosaic style from the Type list present in the left box, and use the Intensity and Opacity sliders to customize further the appearance of effect as needed. Optionally, you can drag the side handles of the effect in the Timeline to adjust the duration of its visibility, and click OK from the bottom-right area of the upper-left box to save the changes.

Step 1: Import a Vertical Video and Add It to the Timeline
Use the above method to import the source vertical video to Filmora X and add it to the Timeline. However, it is important to choose the button under the Keep Project Settings label when the confirmation box appears, so you get some real estate because of the landscape mode to add the blur effect.
Step 2: Add Background Blur
Go to Effects and choose Default from the left pane, as explained earlier. Next, expand the Filters tree if not already expanded, click to select Background Blur from the list, from the box on the right, choose and drag your preferred blur effect, and place it on a separate layer in the Timeline above the video track.
Step 3: Customize the Blur Effect
Double-click the Blur effect in the Timeline, and use the available sliders to customize the effect that best fits your needs.
You can find more details about how to blur the background in the portrait video with Filmora .
Conclusion
If you want to have full control over the post-production process, having an efficient desktop program like Wondershare Filmora X would be something you might be looking for. On the other hand, if you are not a professional editor or are not much into editing and prefer playing around with the tools for personal use, going for a decent web portal to blur video online is your best bet.

Adobe have recently released their new multi-platform video editing tool named Adobe Rush . It promises to be the first of its type in the world, allowing hassle video editing and publishing to a multitude of platforms.
Dubbed the video editing tool for the YouTube generation, having been designed from the ground up for online video creators. Editing is simple via its suite of audio and visual tools, including title screens, transition effects and color adjustment tools. Export is optimized for all social platforms available, including Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat.
Despite the promise of the perfect video editing tool, it’s not been entirely warmly received. Some complain that the editing tools are just too basic, others that the price is uncompetitive. Other issues have been raised with slow rendering capabilities and general instability of the platform, causing crashes that can set projects back by hours.
We’re going to take a look at some of the alternatives to Adobe Rush out there, which may be more capable of getting the job done.
Shortages of Adobe Rush
System requirements
Devices | Requirements |
---|---|
PC | Windows 10 (v1709 or later) |
8 GB of RAM | |
8 GB of available hard-disk space | |
Multicore processor with 64-bit support | |
Mac | macOS 10.13 or later |
8 GB of RAM | |
8 GB of available hard-disk space | |
Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support | |
iPhone/iPad | iOS 11 or later |
iPhone 7 and newer (devices with A9 ARM chip or higher) | |
Android | Not available now |
Windows users will need to be upgraded to the latest version of the operating system, at least version 1709 as a minimum. You’ll also need at least 8GB of RAM if you want to avoid the system crashing every time you use it.
Despite having computers that meet the required spec, numerous users have complained that Adobe Rush is buggy and repeatedly crashes. Some say that the laggy performance makes it almost impossible to use.
An alternative is to use Rush on your iPhone, but for this you’ll need to own at least an iPhone 7, preferably something newer. In testing, we found it to be very slow, even on an iPhone X. If you’re an Android user, you’ll need to wait to experience the ‘Rush’, because this software is not available for your handset yet. Adobe have said they are working on it and how to have it ready at some point in 2019.
Performance
As a video editing tool, it’s fairly competent, but for anything more than the basics, it’s somewhat lacking. Many of the most basic video editing tools are missing, and the platform supports only three transitions, so if you’re into making longer or more complex videos, its just not going to work.
In terms of rendering, we found it incredibly slow in comparison to some of the alternatives to Adobe Rush. The background music choices are pretty limited too, and most of it is not what you want accompanying your cutting-edge videos.
What really broke the deal for us was the inability to specify the output of your video files. This means that although social sharing could be OK, you’re going to be stuck if you want to share it in other locations. It’s great to see a video editing app on iPhone, but overall, it’s really nothing special.
Price
If you already subscribe to the Adobe Create Cloud (CC) suite, then Rush will be included in your subscription. However, if you want to subscribe to it as a standalone app, the price is $9.99 a month for individuals. This is not particularly competitive with the alternatives to Premier Rush, and could be prohibitively expensive for the hobbyist, which is, after all, the market Adobe are aiming at.
Alternatives to Adobe Rush for All Platforms
While Adobe are marketing Rush as a ‘cross platform’ video editor, there are alternatives to Premier Rush which do the job just as well, if not better, and often for a lot less.
1. For Windows - Wondershare Filmora
We love Wondershare Filmora as an alternative to Adobe Rush for Windows. Unlike Rush, you can pick and choose your video output format, as Filmora is compatible with all major video file types including mp4, FLV, MKV, AVI, MOV and more. Instead of being limited to a handful of basic effects, Filmora supports more than 300 high performance effects and filters to perfect your visual appeal.
Download Mac Version ](https://tools.techidaily.com/wondershare/filmora/download/ )
As well as being a video editor, Filmora is a working audio editor too, featuring a full mixer and equalizer to bring your music and speech to life. There’re no transitional limitations, and you can even use green-screen technology, tilt-shift and jump cut features to make your videos pop.
Each video can use up to 99 timelines to make it easier to edit and customize your work. Finally, and a big plus for many of us, you don’t need to have the latest and best PC in order to use this software. Wondershare Filmora works on Windows 7, 8 and 10, and requires only 3GB of RAM. If you want to work in HD or 4K quality, however, you will need 8GB RAM.
2. For Mac - iMovie
iMovie is a powerful editing tool designed for iOS and perfect to use on a Mac. Using your own photos and videos, you can create polished movies complete with titles and even a credits roll. It’s great for turning memories into beautiful keepsakes, which can then be shared with family and friends via social media or direct from your Apple device.

The user-friendly interface makes it possible for even the most novice of users to harness the power of digital video editing. Complete with templates and easy to use tools, even beginners can make high quality trailers, logos and cinema like productions.
iMovie lets users access a number of special effects and enhancements, as well as ten filters to improve the images. Music can be chosen from their own library, and narrative voice overs are possible too. We think iMovie is one of the best alternatives to Adobe Rush available for Mac.
3. For Android - Filmora
As Rush is not yet available for the Android platform, users must look for alternatives to Premier Rush if they want to go ahead and start making movies. Filmora is a great solution, as powerful as most of the desktop editors you’ll come across and with all the features you need to get started.
Clips can be selected from your own device, or from Facebook or Google, and then added into your project folder to be created into a movie. They can then be arranged into a handy timeline, using simple drag and drop functionality which is easy for even beginners to master. There are even in-built themes which you can try out to turn your home movies into something special.
For switching between stills or video clips, there are a raft of fun transitions available to make it a more cohesive production. You can adjust colors, brightness, speed and more, as well as adding in subtitles and editing in music. One of the best features of this software is the picture-in-picture function, where you can add another video or still over the main one. It’s free and amazing fun, and we think one of the best alternatives to Adobe Rush for Android.
4. For iOS - LumaFusion
LumaFusion is a powerful multi track video editor which has been built for the mobile marketplace. It’s widely used by professional filmmakers and journalists, which is why we’ve picked it as one of the best alternatives to Premier Rush for iOS users.
It’s not the easiest app to get started with, but the creators have made a ton of tutorial videos to help you get to grips with it. Capability wise, it’s amazing, with up to three tracks for photos, videos, graphic and titles as well as an additional three audio tracks for narration, music and sound effects.
Video editing includes a wealth of special effects, from color correction tools to transitions, as well as an audio track mixer which can be adjusted on the fly. Title pages can be created, as well as adapting the speed and ratio of playback. Sharing the finished project can be done via social media, cloud storage, disk storage and more.
Conclusion
It’s great to see more software like Adobe Rush coming onto the market; however, it’s important to realize that, despite the hype, there may still be drawbacks to some of these systems. For us, Adobe Rush was exactly that something for editing videos in a rush. If you’re serious about making awesome clips though, investigating some of these alternatives to Adobe Rush.
Before you shell out the high subscription price for Adobe products, it’s worth considering what you really want from your software. Having some goals in mind will allow you to compare the different alternatives to Premier Rush to see where the best value for money lies.
